University Presidents share in WCHA excitement

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The students aren’t the only ones looking forward to this game. Both university presidents are sharing in the excitement.

Despite the rivalry, NMU's president, Fritz Erickson, is honored to host the Huskies at the Berry Events Center on Saturday knowing it is a first in WCHA history.

And Glenn Mroz, the president of Michigan Tech couldn’t agree more about the historic mash up.

"Boy I really didn’t think that we would be playing Northern in a championship at that time, but one thing I know for sure is that the U.P. is coming out a winner," said Mroz.

"The noise level will be deafening and will be what college hockey is all about," added Erickson.

Even though Michigan Tech is on spring break, Mroz is positive Husky fans will show their spirit in the midst of thousands of Wildcat fans.
