MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Upper Peninsula Land Conservancy (UPLC) is partnering with the Michigan Department Natural Resources to expand their Indian Lake Preserves Complex.
The UPLC has been working to expand the area, north of Lake Michigamme for the past two years.
Now, they're planning to build an official trail-head in that location in the spring. They're hoping this will allow more access to recreational activities for the public.
"It's pristine, it's a beautiful area, so we're hoping that with this partnership trail we will be building together in the spring we'll be opening up more opportunities for recreation in the Michigamme area and specifically for visitors of Craig Lake State Park," said UPLC Executive Director, Andrea Denham.
UPLC has open-to-the public guided trips to Indian Lake and the adjacent Murphy Family Preserve each year.
