MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Upper Peninsula Children's Museum is trying to help local families impacted by the ongoing partial government shutdown.
Those government employees currently furloughed and their families can enjoy free daily admission. As those employees are currently going without pay museum staff say this community is all about helping one another.
"When members of your community are hurting in any way it's really up to each one of us to rise to help," said Nheena Weyer Ittner. "So, when we talked about it we thought 'what can we do?' well, we can allow those families to come into this place to enjoy themselves and not have to worry about the expense of admission."
The Children's Museum is located on Baraga Avenue in Marquette. If you are a furloughed employee just talk with museum staff at the front desk.
