NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) - Out on the lot of Fox Negaunee Auto Dealership there was a different sort of vehicle; the Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center Bloodmobile.
Employees at Fox Negaunee were donating blood throughout the day on Tuesday. This is the latest in a large number of drives the Blood Center hosts each year all over the Upper Peninsula. They say with the wide territory they serve, the need is always there for blood donations.
"It's very important to donate blood and have blood drives and participate because there is no substitute for blood. Donors are the only way to get blood and be able to help save lives and there's always a need. There's a nationwide critical need for blood," said Blood Collection Coordinator, Rachel Heath.
The Bloodmobile will be heading to Iron River later this week. The U.P. Regional Blood Center serves 13 Upper Peninsula hospitals.
