Tyler Gauthier is named new RAMBA President

ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - Something new is happening at Range Area Mountain Bike Association (RAMBA) Trails, and it's not dealing with the trails.

It actually has something to do with the administrative side of things.

"To be named the next President of RAMBA is incredibly humbling, and I take it with a lot of pride,” said Tyler Gauthier, the new RAMBA President.

Gauthier, who calls himself a grassroots member, has been with the group since the first Wednesday night ride.

"Danny Hill and others took me in their arms, showed me what mountain biking is all about, and from that moment up, I knew I was going to be a part of this group,” he explained.

Now, roughly 15 years later, Gauthier is serving RAMBA Trails as President.

"I want to continue to just represent our users and members. We have an incredible trail system out there that needs a lot of attention. It needs continued maintenance and building, so I want to continue to bring that opportunity to our members and users."

Former RAMBA President Danny Hill, who served for more than 30 years, believes Gauthier will be able to achieve his goal.

"Tyler is very connected in the community. He's a big advocate of getting outside in the mountain bike picture here,” said Hill.

From here, Gauthier says he's looking forward to getting to know the community and continuing the legacy that's been established.

Meanwhile, Hill says he's going to get back to doing what he loves and that's building trails.
