SANDS TWP, Mich. (WLUC) - A two-vehicle accident occurred at 1:17 p.m. Saturday in Sands Township. The accident happened at the four-way intersection of M-553 and County Road 480.
According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Office a 2013 Mazda sedan, driven by 30-year-old Dana Pakulski of Houghton, failed to stop at the intersection when she then collided with a 2017 Buick driven by 80-year-old Clyde Randell of Marquette.
Randell was then transported to UPHS-Marquette for the treatment of minor injuries. Pakulski was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop and Go Signed Intersection.
Traffic was rerouted for a short time while emergency personnel cleaned up the scene.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Sands Township Fire and EMS, UPHS EMS, Chocolay Township Police Department, and Mickey’s Towing were all on scene.
