Major UP football rivalry could possibly end this school year

MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - The football rivalry between Negaunee High School and Marquette Senior High School will officially end this school year.

According to Marquette Senior High School Athletic Director Alex Tiseo, Negaunee will be moving to the West PAC Conference and there was no room left for any non-conference games. Negaunee is currently a member of the Mid Peninsula Conference.

WLUC TV6 contacted Negaunee Athletic Director Andrew Brunette who says the rivalry end is not official as of yet.

The Negaunee and Marquette rivalry has been ongoing for 123 years.
