HEMATITE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - Two men were injured in an ATV crash in Iron County Saturday afternoon.

According to the Iron County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to an ATV crash at about 12:14 p.m. Saturday, on US-141 near Townline Road in Hematite Township.

The sheriff's office said the driver of the ATV, 25-year-old Cody McGregor of Crystal Falls, was driving in the ditch alongside US-141 when he lost control of the vehicle. The ATV rolled twice and ejected McGregor from the vehicle.

McGregor was airlifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin, for treatment of his injuries, deputies said.

The passenger on the ATV, 29-year-old Travis Hoenig, was belted in and not ejected during the crash, but was also transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for treatment, the sheriff's office said.

The Iron County Sheriff's Office said alcohol and speed are both believed to be factors in the crash.

The current conditions of McGregor and Hoenig were not released.

The Iron County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Aspirus Medivac, Amasa Fire Department, and the Crystal Falls Fire Department.
