A meeting over new wind turbine development in the Garden Peninsula will be discussed Tuesday night in Delta County.
In October an application was submitted by Heritage Sustainable Energy to add more turbines to the wind farm on the Garden Peninsula. A topic that has residents speaking out about the proposed 40 new sites.
Many of the arguments against new turbines are similar to those which were made about the current ones: placement close to homes, historical sites, and scenic regions. On the other side there are questions being raised about people being able to use their property as they wish.
Most hope a compromise can be reached before new development is made.
A meeting with the Delta County Planning Commission is scheduled for Tuesday night. It will be at the Delta County Courthouse starting at 5:00 p.m.
