MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Northern Michigan University's Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Truck Driving Program held a meet and greet for students on Monday at the Jacobetti Complex in Marquette.
The meet and greet allows employers to come in and talk with students about potential jobs. After the presentations, students were then able to ask the employers questions.
Instructors say the event helps employers connect with possible employees and helps students find jobs.
"We've intentionally made it informal to where students are relaxed. It's more of a 'sit down over a cup of coffee' type thing, and have the businesses tell what they have to offer and then the students can make a choice of which avenue they're going to take with that company or other companies,” said NMU CDL Truck Driving Program Instructor, Jeff Rose.
