UPDATE: Severe injuries reported in crash near Koski Corner

HUMBOLDT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - UPDATE at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday:

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office is correcting its information about a serious crash yesterday at Koski Corner.

Authorities now say 79-year-old Judith Prisk of Champion and 65-year-old William Mattila of Republic were taken to the hospital for treatment -- not 71-year-old Michael McCann of Negaunee.

UPDATE at 5:20 p.m. Monday:

Severe injuries were reported after a three-vehicle crash at the US-41 and M-95 intersection Monday morning.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office was dispatched at 10:03 a.m. Monday.

79-year-old Judith Prisk, of Champion, was driving her 2007 Ford Escape eastbound on US-41, when a vehicle turned into her path of travel.

65-year-old William Mattila, of Republic, driving a 2010 Subaru Forester, turned south on M-95 from US-41, crossing Prisk's path of travel, leading to a collision.

Prisk's Escape overturned several times, before striking a 2018 Chrysler 300, driven by 71-year-old Michael McCann, of Negaunee. McCann was stopped in the turning lane behind Mattila's vehicle.

According to the sheriff's office, Prisk and Mattila were taken by ambulance to UP Health System-Bell in Ishpeming, and UP Health System-Marquette where they were both treated for severe, but not life-threatening injuries.

No other details have been released. The crash remains under investigation by the Marquette County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office was assisted by Marquette County Rescue 131, Humboldt Township Fire Department, UPHS-Bell EMS, and UPHS-Marquette EMS.

UPDATE at 12:00 p.m. Monday:

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office says the crash occurred after one of the vehicles involved tried to make a left turn from US-41 onto M-95.

UPDATE at 11:30 a.m. Monday:

According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, there were no life-threatening injuries in the crash at Koski Corner Monday morning, but an unknown number of people have been taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Traffic is now back to normal in the area.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A serious crash near Koski Corner Monday morning is delaying traffic on US-41.

Details about the three-vehicle crash and any injuries weren't immediately available. The crash was reported around 10:00 a.m. near the intersection of US-41 and M-95. This is on the west side of a construction project.

TV6's Cali Dankovich is at the scene and says eastbound US-41 traffic is using the nearby gas station parking lot to get around the crash, and police are directing westbound traffic.
