UPDATE: 69-year-old driver identified after single vehicle rollover crash Wednesday

HUMBOLDT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - Friday, Sept. 20, 10:51 a.m.:

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post have released the name of a man killed in a one vehicle rollover crash on Wednesday.

69-year-old Douglas Johnathan Paul Butcher, of Florida, was the only person in his truck when it rolled over while traveling southbound on US-41, about half a mile west of the M-95 intersection in Humboldt Township.

Butcher was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The Michigan State Police were assisted by the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, Humboldt Township Fire Department, and UP Health System EMS.

According to Michigan State Police, the driver was a 69-year-old Florida man who died at the scene.

The identity of the driver is not being released until officials notify next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Traffic is being rerouted on US-41 between County Road FNO & County Road FN due to a single vehicle traffic crash.

Witnesses say the vehicle lost control while navigating a curve, rolled over several times and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

According to Michigan State Police, the crash was fatal.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

No further information will be released at this time.
