GWINN, Mich. (WLUC) - While still in their first week, a new business is Gwinn has already become popular among community members.
Jake and Katie Bonzer opened Towners Pastry & Chocolate Shoppe, which specializes in French pastries, this past weekend. They also sell coffee, crepes, and plan on adding bread and more as well. They had been selling their goods across Marquette for a while now, but had wanted to open a store front as well. They chose their home of Gwinn, as a way to give the community something new they have never had before, and the community has already been repaying them.
“So we wanted a place for other people to meet up with their friends,” said Katie.
Jake added, "Just a nice cozy place to get out of the cold and have a cup of coffee or a cocoa and a little pastry.”
They say they plan to add ice cream and gelato in the spring and summer months. For hours, and a look at the menu, you can visit their website.
