ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - Christmas is quickly approaching, and UPS workers in Escanaba have a few tips for people during the holiday season.
First, they advise people to send their items early rather than later.
They also say it's a good idea to give your recipient a heads up to expect a package just in case it's lost or stolen.
"When you leave the store, you'll have your tracking number, definitely track it keep an eye on it let the receiver have the tracking number if they're in a questionable area, or they don't know their neighbors,” said Susie Lynch, UPS Co-owner.
“It doesn't hurt to send a signature required or if the receiver has the tracking they can always request that it maybe go to an access point, you know some place where it's signed for and kept secure until they can go pick it up."
UPS workers anticipate December 17th being their busiest day, and suggest coming in before then to avoid long lines.
