Thunderstorm warning issued for Gogebic County

The National Weather Service has issued a thunderstorm warning for southwestern Gogebic County until 11:45 a.m. CT.

They report that a severe thunderstorm was located near Van Buskirk, 11 miles southeast of Ironwood, moving at 35 mph. Quarter-sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts have been reported. Hail damage to vehicles is expected, as is wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.

The thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Gogebic County, including Chaney Lake, Presque Isle Reservoir and Pomeroy Lake.
