Marquette woman arrested following crash in Marquette Township

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - The Marquette County Sheriff's Office says a drunk driver is to blame for a three vehicle crash in Marquette Township.

It happened at 5:27 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of US-41 and Commerce Drive.

Deputies say a Marquette woman failed to stop at a red light and rear ended a pickup truck. The impact forced the pickup truck into the back of another vehicle that was stopped at the light. No serious injuries were reported.

Upon further investigation, deputies found that the Marquette woman was under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and lodged at the Marquette County Jail for operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor - high BAC.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office was assisted on the scene by Marquette City Police, NMU Public Safety and Police Services, UP Health System -Marquette EMS, and the Marquette Township Fire and Rescue.

The incident remains under investigation.
