ALLOUEZ TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - On Saturday, the Keweenaw County Sheriff's Office hosted its third annual Public Safety Day.

This event was held at the Allouez Township Park in Mohawk. Families and friends had the opportunity to meet with local law enforcement agencies.

They also enjoyed fun activities such as a bouncy house, games and even watched several demonstrations.

The Keweenaw County Sheriff's Office says this event is a great way to bring the community together to get to know one another as well as learning better ways to serve.

“We've had an excellent turnout. So many people can come here and meet the deputies, firefighters and the medical personnel. It's a really good day for the community,” said Sheriff Bill Luokkanen. “We have a bouncy house and several games for the kids, canine demonstrations. Every fire department in the county has apparatus here. Everyone seems to be having a real great time and it just makes me so happy to be here."

The sheriff's office thanks all their generous sponsors and the community for their support.
