MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - There has been a change in theme for this year’s community-wide arts performance, the Marquette Spectacle.
The new theme is “An Alluring Dream” and will showcase things and ideas that are unusual and strange, otherwise known as “outré.” The spectacle will feature a parade, art installations, performances, and a 25-minute grand finale performance.
"There are so many people who are excited to share their artistic half of themselves and it's not something that gets to be shown very frequently. That's what the Spectacle is, is this place to kind of express that wilder side,” side Marquette Spectacle Artistic Director, Niikah Hatfield.
The Marquette Arts and Culture Center is still looking for artists, dancers, and performers of all ages to showcase their creative sides in the Spectacle, which will take place on October 12, 2019, at Harlow Park in Marquette.
The application deadline to take part in the finale is the end of August. Other performers and artists need to apply by mid-September in order to participate.
