Break out of your shell at Superior Con

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - The second annual Superior Con took place Saturday where gamers, cosplayers, and comic fanatics alike came together for a day of play. Superior Con is a free gaming event hosted by the Northern Michigan University Cosplayers Unite organization.

Tabletop games, video games, comic books, anime, and cosplay were all apart of Saturday’s event, as well as how-to breakout sessions and snacks for donations.

With more than 150 gamers in attendance last year, Superior Con expected an even larger attendance this year.

"Video gaming is a very anti-social activity so this gives people the chance to come out of their shells and to have a good time," said Brad Werling, dressed as video game favorite, Luigi.

Characters that made an appearance at the event included Mario, the Queen of Hearts from Alice and Wonderland, the Power Puff Girls, and more.
