MARQUETTE, Mich (WLUC) - March is national reading month, and Father Marquette catholic academy decided to celebrate with a trip to Narnia.

Students have been reading the works of C.S. Lewis, whose most famous work is the Chronicles of Narnia series.

They dressed up as characters from the books, ate food made from a Chronicles of Narnia cook book, and showed off projects they have been working on.

The goal was get students excited about reading.

"To walk through the hallways today to hear the buzz of the students, they're so excited for tonight and now seeing them all here, dressed up, they get to see the fruits of their labor, the projects they put together and the hard work that they've done to prepare for this event, too. Its really great.", said Principal Jessica Betz.

The event was free and open to the public.
