Students make comic books for a good cause

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Look up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's three Father Marquette 5th graders making their own comic books, for a great cause.

Travis Link, Everett Borburka, and Isaac Hagle have been working on comics all school year. Their comics are about different Greek gods and their children, re-imagined as crime fighting heroes.

They sell the comics around the community, mostly at Father Marquette basketball games. The three friends even donate half of all the proceeds to the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter.

“So we have a lot about Greek stuff, Greek gods and evil copy machines,” said Link. “They're just saving people and fighting monsters.”

The trio plans to continue working on the comics, and are even working on launching a website to sell them.
