MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - It was day two of Northern Michigan University’s Bike Week. The weeklong event kicked off Monday, promoting sustainable transportation on campus and in the community.
Tuesday, mechanics from Down Wind Sports offered a Tuesday Tune-Up. There was also a chance for students to bike with Wildcat Willy.
Other bike week events include bike groups offering information to interested students and staff, as well as bike to campus day, organized night rides, group rides to the farmers market, and trail rides with organizations like the 906 Adventure Team.
The community is invited to participate in NMU’s Bike week.
"Biking has been a huge part of the campus on NMU. Mostly because Marquette is such a big biking community, so obviously that is going to transfer over to Northern's campus as well,” said Heather Vivian, Executive Director for Cohort One, Eco Reps.
