Around 4:00 A.M Friday, November 24th, Manistique Public Safety and Volunteer Firefighters responded to a structure fire at Bill's Automotive.

The building was fully engulfed in flames and waste oil containers had also ignited, spreading a large amount of burning oil across the parking lot toward Trader's Point Drive.

The nearest fire hydrant became inaccessible to firefighters.

The spreading fire engulfed and destroyed five vehicles, including the business wrecker truck.

Five other vehicles were also destroyed by the fire, two were inside the structure being worked on and three were parked alongside the building.

It is estimated that approximately 2,000 gallons of waste oil was burned or lost in the fire.

The business was completely destroyed in the fire and has been deemed a total loss.

The owner of the business, Greg Reed of Manistique took over the business from his father, William Reed, also of Manistique.

There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
