IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - Dickinson County accepted a state grant that will pay half the cost to rehabilitate the Lake Antoine Park boat launch.
Ice pressure caused damage to the launch base in 2018.Temporary repairs have been made to keep it functional.
Coleman Engineering of Iron Mountain and the board applied for the grant back in March.
“Now we have the means to upgrade it, which like I said, it needs a big upgrade,” said Dickinson County
The current grant is available through the Michigan State Waterways Fund. The county board will match the funds of approximately 44 thousand dollars for the waterways program grant.
Engineering could be wrapped up and approved in time for possible construction next year.
