ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - After taking some time off, the annual Soup'r Chili Challenge was back Tuesday night in Escanaba. The culinary contest is a fundaraiser for the United Way of Delta County.
More than a dozen entries this year gave the crowd and judges plenty of variety to taste all while raising money for the United Way. This year's theme was marvelous Marvel movies. Organizers say it's all about good food for a good cause.
"It's a really fun opportunity for chefs to just come, whether they from a restaurant or not, to come and make their favorite soup or chili recipe and for people to come and taste it," said Julie Mallard from the United Way of Marquette County. "It's always been a good time, it's always been about the food and the bonus is that it's helping a lot of local charities."
