UPDATE: Snow drifts close Menominee-area roads

MENOMINEE, Mich. (WLUC) - UPDATE: Monday, 12:20 p.m.
According to the Menominee County E-911 Facebook page, First Street snow removal should be completed by 6 p.m. Monday.

The Barley Crew will begin helping around noon and the work, including municipal parking lots and downtown sidewalks, will be completed.

County Road 577 is now open as well.

According to Menominee County Dispatch, some roads remained closed Monday morning because of extreme snow drifts.

The Menominee County Road Commission is going to clear County Road 577 with a front loader. This section of road is currently closed due to blowing snow and snow drifts causing dangerous driving conditions. The area is expected to be clear by about 9:00 a.m. Monday.

In Menominee, 1st Street, is still closed at this time, and it may not reopen until Tuesday.
