FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - Individuals and small businesses impacted by Father's Day Floods finally have a place to go for federal aid.
U.S. Small Business Administration representatives are at the Franklin Township Hall through Tuesday, September 18. The SBA can provide loans at as low as 1.9 percent interest rates and unsecured loans up to $25,000 for individual flood victims. Loans are also available to businesses and nonprofits at slightly higher rates.
"It's got to be disaster relief. It had to have occurred on those dates in June. They are going to do everything they can to make this affordable. So, if you are very low income and you only need to borrow a couple of thousand dollars, consider it. Do it from us because we will stretch that payment out as long as you need,” said Karen Knapik, U.S. SBA public affairs specialist.
More information is available in the related links of this story or by calling the SBA at 800-659-2955. Anyone interested can stop in to the Franklin Township Hall 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays or 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday through September 18.
Applications are also open online through November 6.
