GWINN, Mich. (WLUC) - Alleviating stress is an important life skill, and some lucky kids learned how to do it this morning without even knowing it.
PeaceSHINE and Simply Successful Kids partnered together to put on a free rock painting exercise at Peter Nordeen Park in Gwinn. Kids of all ages were invited to come and paint rocks and listen to inspiring stories. The goal of these two groups is to help strengthen family relationships and create tools to help de-stress.
"Oh my gosh, I mean, life is stressful. We look outside and the weather is crumby, and we're upset about that, or we're late to soccer practice and we're upset about that - and we get nervous and tense and stressed. If they can find a couple of go-to tools that can help them to de-stress, that’s something they can learn and practice for a lifetime," says PeaceSHINE owner, Kristine McPeak.
Kristine is planning on holding these free rock painting activities each month in Gwinn. She also offers private de-stress sessions for individuals, groups, and kids, as well as mindfulness workshops through her company PeaceSHINE.
