ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) - Volunteers from the Silver Creek Church are serving the community all this week. Their 2019 ‘Serve Week’ kicked off Monday as they helped a family in Ishpeming repair their roof.
The church will be helping with a number of other projects in the community throughout the week, and anyone is welcome to help. They say this service is so important to them, because it follows and honors the teachings in scripture.
“So that's what Serve Week is really about, empowering and encouraging people to really follow the example of Jesus,” said Pastor Kevin Taylor.
During ‘Serve Week’ they will also be helping with clothes sorting at Silver Creek Thrift, doing playground work at Cherry Creek Elementary, as well as helping with the Warming Center and Feeding America.
