GWINN, Mich. (WLUC) - Students at Gwinn High School are hard at work on their latest musical. They're putting on Shrek the Musical starting Friday night.
Students from the High School Drama Club were rehearsing the show Thursday afternoon. They've been working hard to make the grumpy orge and the medieval, swamp fairytale come to life. The storyline of the box office hit stays the same throughout the musical, but bringing the characters to the stage will capture audiences all over again.
"The kids have been working really hard on it, they've got a lot of energy and they make it a lot of fun. They're up here having a lot of fun and and that really gets out to the audience and that really gets you energized, it's a great time and it's a great show for anybody of any age," said Kyle Hantz, Director of Shrek the Musical.
The show starts Friday at 7 p.m. There will also be a show Saturday also at 7 p.m. as well a show on Sunday at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at the Gwinn High School Cafetorium.
