WETMORE, Mich. (WLUC) - Shopko has announced one Shopko Hometown store in Upper Michigan is closing.
Shopko spokesperson Michelle Hansen says the store in Wetmore started its liquidation sale Friday, and it's expected to close April 7.
Shopko had no other updates to share about U.P. stores. Hansen said a store in Dowagiac, Mich. is also closing.
The Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin-based retailer intends to seek bankruptcy protection from creditors next week.
The company announced late last year that it was closing 39 stores in 19 states by the end of February, but none of those locations are in the U.P.
