MENOMINEE, Mich. (WLUC) - A once popular U.P. restaurant that abruptly closed in June will soon be reopening.
Schloegel's Family Restaurant in Menominee closed unexpectedly, much to the dismay of many locals and travelers. But word is out that the landmark waterfront will be opening again under new ownership very soon.
Tim Murray, owner of Murray's Irish Pub and the Pirates Cove, has purchased the establishment, and says he plans on keeping things the same for those who loved the restaurant.
"We're going to start off with breakfast. 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. everyday. Breakfast and lunch and gradually increase the hours after that. It's the same menu. It's going to be limited to start at first because we do have to train some new people. But pretty much we have the same staff in the kitchen."
A specific date has not been chosen for the reopening, but Murray says it should take place within the next few days.
