Man who crashed into Norway VFW will face charges

NORWAY, Mich. (WLUC) - *UPDATE, 8/13, 11:55 a.m.
22-year-old Casey Steinhagen has been named as the driver who drove an SUV through the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4581 in Norway on Sunday evening.
Steinhagen was arraigned on Monday and is being charged with possession of a controlled substance, operating while intoxicated, and driving reckless.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4581 in Norway has significant damage after a SUV drove through the building Sunday evening.

According to Norway Police, the 22-year-old driver was arrested on operating under the influence of drugs. A 23-year-old female passenger was transported to the Dickinson County Healthcare System for unknown injuries.

The VFW Senior Post Commander Dennis Peterson, said the members are shocked.

“We didn't sleep well after this last night because you don't know what's going to happen.”

No one was inside the post at the time.

Now, the VFW must pick up the pieces of their building and wait to see what they need to do to rebuild.
