MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Sunday morning, some braved the cold for the Queen City Running Company’s third annual Run Your Heart out 5k.
Participants could run as a couple, an individual, or be set up on a blind date.
Prizes were awarded for the top runner in every age group.
After the run, athletes met up at the Ore Dock to warm up and replenish their carbs.
"It’s just a great way to get out and do something active during the winter time. It's not really the most enjoyable time of year for running. So, [Queen City Running Company] likes to give people a way to get out and do stuff once in a while here in the winter,” said Morty Harwood.
The cold unfortunately did keep some athletes away, and the race had to be rerouted due to the snowy conditions.
