HANCOCK, Mich. (WLUC) - Houghton Rotary steps up to help Houghton County Flood victims. The rotary club presented a check for nearly $16,000 to Keweenaw Community Foundation.
Donations came from all over the state of Michigan and as far away as California and Arizona. Rotary leaders say the wide reach is thanks to the international rotary network.
Funds will be used to serve those most impacted by Father's Day Floods.
"Our donation fits into a larger regional effort to address flood relief. There have been numerous community organizations that have also been providing assistance to residents. This is one more source of funding that can help tie up the loose ends for Houghton County Residents," said Houghton Rotary president Patricia Leopold.
Keweenaw Community Foundation is still accepting donations to help flood victims. A link to more information is available in the related links section of this article.
