NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP (WLUC) - Updated Sunday, 11:11 p.m.
Michigan State Police troopers from the Negaunee Post responded to a one-vehicle personal injury accident where a vehicle slid off the roadway and overturned. The crash occurred at 2:20 p.m., on M-35 approximately half a mile south of US-41.
52-year-old Michael Williams of Negaunee was driving northbound on M-35 when he lost control of his 2015 Jeep Wrangler and slid off the roadway into a ditch, causing the Jeep to overturn. Williams was alone in the vehicle and was wearing a properly fastened seatbelt. He sought his own treatment for minor injuries.
Marquette County Sheriff's Department, Negaunee Township Fire Department, UP Health System Marquette EMS and Antilla's Towing Service all assisted Michigan State Police at the scene.
A single vehicle rollover Sunday afternoon in Negaunee Township. The driver and sole occupant of the Jeep Wrangler wasn't injured. The name of the driver has not been released.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on M-35, a couple of miles south of U.S. 41. The road appeared clear, but had slushy spots.
According to officials on the scene, the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle coming down a small hill. Michigan State Police are handling the investigation.
