MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Students from all over the state met for day 2 of the robot wars.
The event was held in the Kingsford high school gym as students put their STEM skills to the test.
The robots were built over the last 6 weeks with students starting from the ground up designing, building and program their machines.
Of course, they had help with mentors from the engineering fields.
"The reason we do this is because the companies are hurting for good technology workforce, so we are raising that workforce for them. They sponsor the events, they put their mentors on the teams so they can have access to these kids early.", says FIRST in Michigan President Gail Alpert.
40 teams from throughout Michigan competed.
