MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A workshop that took place at Northern Michigan University Wednesday helped students stick out when applying for jobs.
The NMU Hospitality Club hosted a resume workshop at the Jacobetti Complex on campus. The event included a presentation by a representative of the Career Services department, providing insight on how to lay out a resume and what information to include.
Following the presentation, the students could receive one-on-one help, and bounce ideas off of other participants.
“Well, this is actually a cool service that the university always offers, we’re just making it a bit more available to kids down at the [Jacobetti Complex.] It’s good to always have a resume active in case you have a job opportunity come up, you don’t want to have it be last minute and not know what you’re doing,” said Gabe Hintz, Treasurer of the NMU Hospitality Club.
The event gives students a chance to get their resume ready before an upcoming hospitality job fair, which takes place March 11 at the Jacobetti Complex.
