MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) - New resolutions often come with the new year and, of course, one popular one is to quit smoking.
Those who have quit often say it's one of the hardest things they've done in life, so what are some tips for kicking the habit? Some health officials say first, set a quit date, get rid of all smoking paraphernalia, set up support from friends and family and develop new healthy habits.
"Quitting smoking is a very difficult thing to do, but it's one of the most worthwhile things you can do for your health, for your family and for your life. Keep quitting until you quit for good," said Registered Nurse, Susanna Rushford.
There are also a wide number of resources available online and via telephone for quitting smoking, like the CDC website.
