ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - On Friday Representative Beau LaFave began the day in Rapid River by visiting the first of nine schools on his agenda for the day.
LaFave was taking the day off from politics to read Dr. Seuss's "Hooray for Diffendorfer Day" to large groups at each school.
He also took questions from students after he was done reading. The student were the most curious to find out who LaFave's boss is and how much he gets paid.
LaFave explained why this was such an important thing to be doing.
"One of these kids is going to be the next State Representative and we've got to be sure to give them all the tools they need right now so they can go on and be successful because they are going to be leading our state someday."
LaFave also made a point of saying the book choice celebrated what would have been Dr. Seuss's 114th birthday on Friday.
