'Read Between the Wines' fundraiser promotes literacy and history education

A fundraiser at the Marquette Regional History Center next week aims to help promote literacy and history education in Michigan.

The Read Between the Wines event is a joint fundraiser with the Marquette History Center and the Literacy Legacy Fund of Michigan, which is based in Upper Michigan but helps organizations across the state.

The event is Thursday, November 8 at the Marquette Regional History Center from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Two local history authors, Tyler Tichelaar and Sonny Longtine, will be reading passages from their books. There will also be raffle prizes and door prizes.

Tickets are $35 in advance and can be purchased

. Tickets include wine samples, a commemorative wine glass, hors d'oeuvres, and a chance to win a historical photograph.
