The radar at the national weather service in Marquette will be out of service this week.
Technicians will be working this week on installing a new signal processor which will improve processing speed and data quality along with added functionality and IT security.
This is the first step in four major upgrades known as service life extension projects that will take place over the next 5 years to keep the radar operational into the 2030s.
While this is being worked our area will be covered by the Duluth, MN, Green Bay, WI and Gaylord, MI radar sites.
