Race Driven remains positive despite minor setback

ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) - Race Driven has opened another addition to their store in Escanaba.

"You're going to have another power sports dealership that's actually going to just probably be a little bit different looking than what a lot of them look like,” said General Manager, Jesse Zambon.

Originally from Escanaba, Zambon says he’s happy to be back and work here now that his previously owned Zambon’s in Marquette is closed.

"It's been nice to reconnect with the community, and just a lot of people stopping by to say hi,” he explained.

He says he’s also excited for people to check out their products now that Race Driven and Zambon’s are one team.

"We are able to collaborate on some ideas to bring them together to be able to sell, the KTM dirt bike and street bike line-ups, along with bringing in Polaris ATVs and side-by-sides."

Race Driven Inc. purchased the old Zambon’s store in Marquette.

As they were getting everything together, they encountered a setback in keeping both stores open.

"We had some franchise red tape that we needed to work through, and it wasn't allowing us to keep the Marquette store going,” explained Zambon.

This meant the team had to let the Zambon's store in Marquette go.

This news disappointed them, however store leaders are hopeful everything will work.

"We picked Escanaba because Escanaba was the bigger facility,” said Zambon. “We have multiple franchises, and then we felt that we could give overall the best experiences for the guests."

Even though the team did not want to close the Marquette location, Race Driven said they still are committed to providing quality service.

"Just trying to get their parts as fast as we can and service their machines to get them in and out and back on the trails for them,” said Parts and Service Advisor, Doug Pratt.

The team says they're going through renovations right now, but they invite the community to check out their products at their new building on Ludington Street in Escanaba.

For anyone who can’t visit, he advises people to check out
