Dickinson County Communities that Care, Kiwanis to host 'Prevention Palooza', open skate
January is National Prevention Month and Dickinson County Communities that Care is hosting a free open skate-night to get the word out.
The ‘Prevention Palooza’ and open skate takes place on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Mountain View Ice Arena from 6 to 9:30 p.m. central time.
The goal is to bring families together. Organizers say it's all about helping communities prevent problems before they develop.
There will be many prizes and games. It is also a fun way to build relationships and create strong family ties.
"We want to show bonding with the family, with the community, and with our schools. So, bringing all these kids together, it's a great way of bonding those kids together, they're not just in their school, but other schools and involved in community events,” said Dickinson County's Communities That Care Prevention Service Supervisor, Tracy Johnson.
Sponsors include Iron Mountain-Kingsford Kiwanis, Imagination Factory and Results Broadcasting.
