NORWAY, Mich. (WLUC) - Preparations are underway for Saturday's 'Night of the Viking.'
It's all a part of Norway's annual Leif Erikson festival.
Beginning at 6 p.m., there will be a viking feast at Holy Spirit Catholic School, complete with actors in costume.
The tickets for that multi-course meal are $15 for adults, and $10 for children. They can be purchased at Northern Interstate Bank or Swedish Passport.
For the past eight years, organizers say this event has been a great event for the community, though many people from around the Midwest partake as well.
"It is so much fun! People laugh and there's such camaraderie, you're making friends and you're all kind of part of this play or this experience and it's just so unique," says Leif Erikson Festival Committee Member Carol Sundstom."I mean we have people who come from all over! We get a number of people who come from the Chicago area, Green Bay, and Milwaukee to come to this."
Following the dinner will be a Viking Funeral at Strawberry Lake with a viking ship.
