GLADSTONE, Mich. (WLUC) - The Terrace Bluff Golf Course is preparing to open soon. The driving range was opened on Monday, since most of the snow on it is gone.
Ground crews are working to prepare the course, as the harsh winter left behind downed sticks and trees. The course is normally one of the first ones open, since underneath the course is sand which prevents water retention, thus keeping the course drier than others.
The general manager says he is already getting calls from golfers who are anxious for the course to open.
"We're normally the first one to open so we have had a few phone calls this morning already for the course, but now that we've announced that the driving range is open, those phones should be ringing off the hook hopefully," said Terrace Bluff General Manager, Tony Pouliot.
The average opening date is April 8, but the course has opened as late as May 5 due to inclement weather.
Staff at the course hope to open sometime next week.
