UPDATE: Police still searching for Manistee woman

Malvika Bala Deshmukh was reported missing to the Michigan State Police in Cadillac on Wed. Sept. 14. The report indicated that Deshmukh was last seen by friends on Friday, September 9th.
On September 23, 2016, Deshmukh’s vehicle was located in a remote area near the North Country Trail head off of the Rock River Rd. in Alger County. Deshmukh is from the Bear Lake area of Manistee County downstate.
A search was conducted by the US Forest Service, Alger County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police and the DNR. No evidence of Deshmukh’s whereabouts had been found.
The family is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.
If anyone has seen or has information regarding the whereabouts of Deshmukh please contact the Alger County Sheriff’s Office or the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post.
