MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - Peak Gymnastics in Marquette Township is holding a new fundraiser for it's competitive team. They're collecting shoes.
Now through the end of the year you can drop off new or gently used shoes at Peak. They're being collected to raise money for the expenses for the team including travel costs. In addition to raising the funds, organizers hope it will teach the team about giving back.
"With the holidays this year we wanted to do something that taught the kids a little bit about giving back so we were looking for a fundraiser that met both needs, raising money for the program as well as giving back to those in need," said Lucy Anthony, Parent of a Gymnast at Peak. "We found this shoe drive and we're collecting shoes here at Peak Gymnastics and all the shoes will get shipped to developing countries."
The shoes are being collected through December 31st. This is the first year for this fundraiser at Peak.
