MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - An open house showcasing the “Ore Dock BotEco Center” was held at Travel Marquette on Monday morning.
The BotEco Center would re-purpose downtown Marquette’s Ore Dock and transform it into a green-space filled with gardens and performance spaces.
At the open house, the community had a chance to come out and see a model of the center as well as sign a form showing their support for the project.
"This is an uncommon opportunity because we have this dock right downtown like this. It's just not something that a lot of other cities who have docks have the opportunity to do,” said BotEco Center Board President, Gisele Duehring.
Duehring adds that the business plan and economic impact analysis plan for the center are well underway. She also says the center is looking for people to help fund the project.
