UPDATE:One taken to hospital after motorcycle crash in Marquette, in critical condition

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - UPDATE: At 11:16 a.m. on July 11, 2018, Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post were dispatched to County Road 550 just north of County Road KN for a two vehicle traffic crash involving a motorcycle.

Upon investigation, Troopers determined that a 21 year old male from Cadott, Wisconsin was traveling North on County Road 550 on a Suzuki motorcycle. He was driving directly behind a Honda Odyssey driven by a 16 year old female from Champion, Michigan. The Honda Odyssey slowed down and attempted to make a left hand turn. The motorcycle was unable to stop, and drove into the rear of the Honda Odyssey. The driver of the motorcycle was transported from the scene to UPHS-Marquette and remains in critical condition. The driver and passenger in the Honda Odyssey were both uninjured in the crash.

The motorcycle is believed to have clipped the bumper of a van while trying to pass.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital for unknown injuries.

It is believed that the driver was wearing a helmet.
